Visit Moncton - Dieppe
UPDATED FEBRUARY 13, 2026
Paint the Town Red in Moncton - Dieppe
Your mission, should you wish to accept it, is to visit Moncton–Dieppe for a weekend getaway.
“Soak up the vibrant arts and culture,” they said. “Shop a little, visit a spa, and enjoy some amazing local food and drink experiences.”
Destination Moncton–Dieppe didn’t have to ask me twice.
A girlfriend getaway, a loose itinerary, and an open mind? Mission accepted.
What unfolded — first on that initial girls’ weekend in 2023 and again when I returned in 2025 for a hosted influencer visit — reminded me just how much this bilingual hub quietly punches above its weight. European café culture, vibrant public art, creative cuisine, wellness escapes, and walkable downtown charm blend together into one very fun, very grown-up playground.
If you’re looking for an easy, energizing escape, here’s how to paint the town red.
Start Where the Locals Do: Dieppe Market
Saturday mornings belong at the Dieppe Market.
The air hums with conversation and the scent of fresh bread, maple treats, spices, and fresh coffee. Farmers, bakers, artists, and makers greet you like old friends while you wander from stall to stall sampling sweet and savoury bites.
It’s the kind of place where you pop in for “a quick look” and leave an hour later with a bag full of goodies and three new favourite vendors.
The perfect first stop — and the perfect introduction to the region’s proud food culture.
French Pastries & Brunch Worth Travelling For
Just across the street sits Atelier Tony, and if you only make one food stop all weekend, make it this one. Tony’s pastries transport you straight to Paris — flaky almond croissants, buttery layers, and that irresistible first crackle when you break one open are reason enough to linger.
Whether it’s brunch on a sunny morning or a sweet takeaway from the Boulangerie Tony next door, you’ll be spoiled for choice. If you happen to visit during winter’s Chocolat Moncton Hot Chocolate Festival, local cafés and restaurants (including Tony’s Bistro & Pâtisserie) pour creative hot chocolate concoctions — like rich crème-brûlée inspired cups — that make a cozy treat between bites and strolls.
Art Around Every Corner
One of my favourite things about Moncton–Dieppe? The art isn’t tucked away in galleries — it’s everywhere.
Festival Inspire murals transform the city into an open-air gallery. Turn any corner and you’re face-to-face with bold, larger-than-life works by local and international artists. You can follow a self-guided walking map or simply wander and let the city surprise you.
Beyond the murals, creativity runs deep:
Dieppe Centre for Arts & Culture
Capitol Theatre, a beautifully restored 1920s vaudeville house and the region’s premier performance venue
Resurgo Place, blending local history with interactive transportation exhibits
Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral and the immersive MR21 digital experience
Heritage iTour, a self-guided audio walk highlighting downtown’s architectural stories
Every stop adds another layer to the city’s cultural heartbeat.
A Flavourful Lunch Break at Red Satay
After a morning of mural hunting and gallery hopping, we were ready to refuel — and lunch at Red Satay Main Moncton hit the spot.
This local favourite serves authentic Vietnamese and Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients and family recipes, and the flavours are anything but ordinary. Think fragrant curries, savoury stir-fries, and comforting noodle bowls layered with bright herbs and spice.
It’s the kind of place where every dish feels colourful, generous, and deeply satisfying — perfect after a few hours on your feet exploring downtown.
And whatever you do, save room for dessert. The deep-fried banana with taro ice cream is warm, crispy, creamy, and completely irresistible — the sweetest finish to an unforgettable meal.
Refuelled and happy, we were more than ready for the quiet calm of the spa next.

Phones Off & Zen On at USVA Nordik Spa
After a full morning of exploring, we traded bustle for stillness at USVA Nordik Spa.
The thermotherapy circuit — hot, cold, rest, repeat — has been practiced for centuries. After just two cycles of sauna, cold plunge, and relaxation pool, my shoulders had dropped about three inches.
Even better? It’s phone-free.
No scrolling.
No notifications.
Just quiet.
In today’s world, that might be the greatest luxury of all.
Hands-On Culinary Fun at Brix
That evening we headed to Brix Experience, where dinner came with an apron.
These chef-led cooking classes are equal parts education and entertainment. On my first visit, we mastered Caprese salad and handmade gnocchi from scratch. When I returned in 2025, I was invited back to explore Acadian classics — from comforting fricot to sweet pets de soeur pastries.
Two completely different menus. Same result: laughter, learning, and a shared table at the end.
It’s social, delicious, and surprisingly empowering — even for those of us who don’t always feel confident in the kitchen.
They also offer cocktail classes, wine tastings, and special events, so there’s always something new to try.
Coffee, But Make It Educational: Epoch Chemistry
One morning we ducked into Epoch Chemistry for what turned into a full-on coffee tasting.
Barista Nick guided us through flavour profiles like a sommelier — Brazilian (smooth and chocolatey), Colombian (floral and tea-like), Mexican (funky and fruity).
I left with beans, new knowledge, and a deeper appreciation for what’s in my mug.
It’s part café, part classroom — and entirely worth the stop.
Shop Small, Shop Local
If you love boutique browsing as much as I do, you’re in trouble (the good kind).
Favourites included:
B Home for a curated selection of local artisan treasures
Lordon for elevated fashion finds
Kept on Main for beautifully curated gifts and home goods
Boutique 2ième Look for designer consignment
Gifts Galore for delightful Maritime-made gifts
Starving Artist Gallery for local art and handmade crafts
Independent shops, friendly faces, and plenty of one-of-a-kind discoveries make shopping here feel personal and fun.
Nature’s Wild Show: The Tidal Bore & Riverfront Park
Time it right and head to Tidal Bore Park to witness one of New Brunswick’s coolest natural phenomena — the tidal bore.
Twice daily, Bay of Fundy tides send a rolling wave surging upriver, transforming the calm Petitcodiac in minutes.
It’s brief. Unexpected. A little dramatic. Very on-brand for nature.
(Pro tip: check the daily schedule — it changes.)
Afterward, wander Riverfront Park’s trails and lookouts for a slower, scenic reset.
Dinner at Sophia & Spritz
For our final evening, we settled into Sophia & Spritz, inspired by the elegance of Sophia Loren and her love of Italian cuisine.
Seafood pasta, warm bread, generous portions, relaxed conversation — the kind of comforting, local-first cooking that makes you want to linger a little longer.
Exactly how a girls’ getaway should end.
Sweet, Seasonal & Irresistible Extras
Between the big headline experiences, we squeezed in a few more local favourites:
Charming cafés like La Factrie
European-style baked goods at CoPain
Irresistible scoops from Lost and Found Ice Cream
Fun morning picks like Halo Donuts
And local treats at spots like LaRouère fabrique de chocolat or Candy Depot Moncton
If your visit lines up with the right season, you’ll find even more to savour. During my influencer trip we ventured out to the sugarbush at Château Scoudouc to see maple syrup made from sap to bottle — and taste its golden results. And if you’re in town in late winter, the Chocolat Moncton Hot Chocolate Festival invites you to stroll from café to café sampling imaginative takes on hot chocolate — from lush European-style cups to indulgent seasonal creations.
In Moncton–Dieppe, something delightful always seems to be around the next corner.
Where to Stay: Canvas Moncton
Home base for both visits was Canvas Moncton, a boutique-style Hilton right in the heart of downtown.
Think modern design, spacious rooms, plush beds, rainfall showers, and the kind of location that lets you park once and walk everywhere.
Morning lattes and breakfast sandwiches at Bar 55 became our ritual, while Gahan House brunch (don’t miss the mimosa flight) and evening cocktails at the Palette Urban Rooftop Bar added extra fun.
I loved it so much that when Destination Moncton–Dieppe invited me back in 2025, this was my requested hotel.
That says it all.
