Every autumn, the seaside town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea hosts one of New Brunswick’s most anticipated food and wine festivals.

Indulge Food & Wine Festival returns October 14–18, 2026, bringing five days of tastings, special dinners, live entertainment and culinary experiences to this beautiful coastal town. Chefs, winemakers, craft brewers, distillers, food artisans and hospitality businesses come together to showcase the flavours of New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada.

Set against the backdrop of Passamaquoddy Bay, Indulge is the kind of festival that invites you to slow down, gather with friends and enjoy yourself.

Whether you’re sipping wine on a balcony as the sun melts into Passamaquoddy Bay, sampling oysters along Water Street, or raising a glass and enjoying small plates with friends at a kitchen party, Indulge serves up warmth, connection and inspiration in every bite.

And after attending for more than a decade, I can tell you that it has become one of my favourite fall traditions.

Why Indulge Is One of My Favourite Weekends

I’ve been attending Indulge St. Andrews for more than a decade, and it has become one of my favourite weekends on the calendar. My besties and I block off the weekend months in advance, secure our accommodations and set reminders for ticket day. Then we get together and do what we’ve always done: eat, drink, laugh, listen to music and make another round of memories.

What keeps me coming back is the combination of experiences. One minute we’re dressed up for a special dinner, the next we’re wandering Water Street with a tasting glass in hand or singing along to a favourite tune at Dueling Pianos.

It never feels like we’re simply attending a series of events. The whole town becomes part of the experience, and every year brings something new to discover. That’s what makes Indulge such a wonderful way to experience St. Andrews in autumn.

Kick Off Indulge with Dueling Pianos

Introduced in 2023, Dueling Pianos quickly became one of Indulge’s most talked-about events, and for good reason. Part concert, part comedy and part audience takeover, it’s an absolute riot of sing-alongs, laughter and dancing.

My friends Julie, Lucie and I arrived a day early one year specifically to catch it, and boy, were we glad we did! Featuring New York’s Shake, Rattle & Roll Dueling Pianos, the show delivers what it promises: 88 keys, thousands of songs and endless possibilities.

The crowd gets to choose the playlist, and the duo moves from Billy Joel to Bon Jovi, Britney Spears to Bruno Mars, with enough energy to make Drewhaven’s heritage walls shake.“Let’s Go Blue Jays!” even made the list last year! It’s fun, interactive and all for a good cause, with proceeds supporting the St. Andrews Food Bank.

If you’re planning your Indulge itinerary, this is a fantastic way to kick off the weekend.

Taste Your Way Along Water Street at Taste of St. Andrews

Taste of St. Andrews is the event my friends and I look forward to all year. On Friday evening, Water Street transforms into a lively, walkable tasting trail as local shops and businesses open their doors for food and drink pairings.

You pick up your pre-paid bracelet, glass and map, then wander from stop to stop as live music fills the street and laughter spills from every doorway. Recent editions have featured more than 30 tasting locations, making this one delicious way to explore St. Andrews while discovering local businesses, chefs and food producers.

You run into old friends, make new friends and enjoy every second. It’s casual, festive and delicious, the kind of night that reminds you how much fun it is to live, visit and eat in the Maritimes.

Sip Your Way Along the Wine, Beer & Spirits Trail

If you love discovering new flavours, the Wine, Beer & Spirits Trail on Saturday afternoon is another Indulge favourite. This self-guided tasting experience invites you to explore St. Andrews from venue to venue while sampling wine, beer, spirits and creative cocktails along the way.

Pick up your bracelet, glass and tasting map, then set out to see where the afternoon takes you. It’s laid-back, social and a great way to experience more of the town while enjoying the festival atmosphere. My advice? Pace yourself, drink plenty of water and grab some food along the way, too.

Choose Your Indulge Adventure

The events I’ve shared are just a small sample of what’s available during Indulge. The full festival schedule offers plenty of choices, from chef-hosted tastings and special dinners to wine and spirits experiences, live music, food trucks, markets, concerts and kitchen parties.

You might find yourself enjoying an elegant multi-course dinner one evening and gathering with friends for a lively kitchen party the next. That variety is part of what makes Indulge so much fun.

End the Weekend with a Hike for the Food Bank

End the weekend with something that feeds both body and soul. The Chamcook Mountain Hike, hosted by Rossmount Inn, is a family-friendly event that combines an outdoor experience with support for the local Food Bank.

Participants can enjoy a self-paced hike before gathering afterward for food and a little time to relax and reconnect. It’s a refreshing change of pace after a weekend filled with tastings, dinners and celebrations, and a wonderful way to experience the autumn landscape around St. Andrews.

There’s something special about closing out Indulge surrounded by nature, community and good food for a cause.

Make Time for St. Andrews

Of course, there’s plenty to enjoy around town between festival events. Wander along Water Street, browse the independent shops and galleries, stop for a meal or coffee, take a waterfront walk and enjoy the views across Passamaquoddy Bay.

Some of my favourite festival memories happen in those in-between moments: discovering a shop I’ve never noticed before, lingering over lunch with friends or taking a walk by the water before heading off to the next event.

St. Andrews is a town made for wandering, and if you’re coming for Indulge, give yourself a little time to enjoy it.

Maybe this will be your first Indulge, or perhaps you’re already planning next year’s getaway. However you experience it, come hungry, bring people you enjoy spending time with and leave a little room for the unexpected. Because the best part of Indulge isn’t necessarily the event you planned months ahead. Sometimes it’s the conversation that lasts longer than expected, the new favourite you discover along the way or the laugh you’ll still be talking about long after the weekend is over.

For me, that’s what keeps Indulge on the calendar year after year.
