The I.O.D.E. Evergreen Tour – A Festive Tradition That Gives Back

The Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.) is a Canadian women’s charitable organization founded in 1900, with its very first chapter, the Doris E. Sullivan, established in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Since 1986, the I.O.D.E. Evergreen Tour has been the chapter’s largest annual fundraiser, allowing guests to step inside beautifully decorated homes while supporting a meaningful cause.

Guests are invited on a festive journey through four curated, seasonally decorated homes in and around Fredericton. It’s a perfect way to welcome the holiday season, and every ticket directly supports local philanthropy. The Doris E. Sullivan Chapter proudly contributes to educational programming, scholarships, bursaries, food banks, shelters, and community initiatives across the region. By attending, you help make those programs possible.

Why It’s So Special

I’ve cherished the Evergreen Tour for years. There’s something magical about walking into homes glowing with lights, greenery, and dΓ©cor that reflects each homeowner’s unique holiday spirit. Throughout this post, you’ll see a few of my favourite photos from tours gone by, moments filled with warmth, creativity, and festive inspiration. But nothing compares to experiencing it in person.

This year promises to be just as memorable, with four homes opening their doors to welcome guests. Whether you love historic charm, classic elegance, whimsical dΓ©cor, or modern Christmas styling, there is always something to spark your imagination.

Reception at Government House

Following the tours, guests are invited to a reception at Government House, a beautiful finale to the evening. Enjoy tea, coffee, apple cider, and sweets while you mingle with other attendees and meet local I.O.D.E. members. Guests are welcome to explore the elegant first-floor rooms and stroll through the art galleries upstairs. It’s the perfect ending before heading home with fresh dΓ©cor ideas and the spirit of the season in your heart.

Kick Off Your Holiday Season

The Evergreen Tour is more than dΓ©cor, it’s community. It’s giving back. It’s stepping into Christmas with beauty, generosity, and inspiration. Whether you’re attending for the first time or it’s a yearly tradition, this event is a holiday favourite for a reason.

Hope to see you there.

Happy Holidays, and tell them the Maritimes Maven sent you!
