Christmas in the Village in Gagetown New Brunswick

Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village is an annual festive event that takes place in Gagetown, New Brunswick. This year it is happening from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday November 23rd and Sunday November 24th, 2024. Over the years, I would pick which day to go and either my mother-in-law or a good friend would join me and we would make a full day of it. However, once I was hosted overnight at a local B & B along with my friend Julie, and we enjoyed double the fun. There is so much to see & do that an extended stay is just what you need to pace yourself and fully participate in more of the event’s offerings. You will be guaranteed to leave full of festive spirit, and quite possibly a carload of locally-made artisan gifts. Christmas in the Village is just one of those events that has people coming back year after year after year. It is another reason why this is the most wonderful time of the year.

The Twelve Hours of Christmas

There are a few places to stay in the village to extend your visit to enjoy more of the festivities, and culinary opportunities. Enjoy my take on a familiar carol as I share our special two-day experience of Christmas in the Village through The Twelve Hours of Christmas.

Gagetown’s Christmas in the Village

Gagetown’s Christmas in the Village is a wonderful day-trip experience but can be also enjoyed by spending the night and fully participating in a whole weekend of fun. Enjoy visiting village shops, artisan studios, and pop-up shops, then drop into the historic Courthouse, Tilley House, Loomcrofter’s, and the St. John’s Anglican Church to see the incredible display of nativity scenes from around the world. Plan breaks for lunch at Gagetown Grill and Smokehouse or a local pop up offering, and try a cider tasting at Gagetown Distilling & Cidery or a cocktail at The Reed & Thistle in Steamers. You will never go wrong with lunch and/or dinner at Gulliver’s World Café, too. A browse at Rustic Reflections Antiques & Collectibles is always on my to do list, as is my last stop to pick up homemade Beans-to-Go at the Anglican Parish Hall. Head home with full tummies, a carload of artisan goodies, plus supper-to-go. Christmas in the Village is a wonderful experience and one I try to never miss. Keep an eye out for Santa Claus, too. He always makes an appearance each day. Stay tuned to Gagetown’s Christmas in the Village Facebook page for more information including a map of the village offerings. Gagetown really rolls out the red carpet during the most wonderful time of the year.

Overnight in Gagetown

I highly recommend overnighting in Gagetown to anyone who feels they just cannot see or do Christmas in the Village all in one day. Having an extra day to take it all in was so much fun. The May Queen and Gulliver’s Guest Suites are two great choices that I have personally enjoyed. See Discover Arcadia and Gulliver’s World Café & Guest Suites for more information through the links at the bottom of this article.

Discover Arcadia

Arcadia is a Greek word meaning "in harmony with nature and pastoral beauty," and it perfectly describes the new larger village of Arcadia encompassing the former villages of Gagetown, Jemseg, and Cambridge-Narrows. Click on the photo link above to learn more.
